"Group Therapy" is a diverse foursome of dedicated barbershop style
singers, committed to fun, fellowship and good harmony.
Sharon Dreher is the quartet lead. After years of cabaret singing
she tried teaching English, but found she was spending too much time in
detention. She is currently an office manager for a firm which sells
metal building components and says, "There is nothing I would rather do
than sing."
Kathy Joseph sings baritone. After fleeing Canada for amnesty in
the United States, Kathy became a naturalized U.S. citizen and is
currently living her dream of being a full service cosmetologist and
master educator of cosmetology. All Kathy needs is the three other parts
of a quartet and she will sing anywhere!
Jenny Mercing is the bass singer and gave up her dream of playing
drums for "The Eagles" when her granddaughter was born this Spring.
Jenny works as an accounting assistant for a construction firm. She has
been a member of TOTR since 1989 and has sung bass in other chapter
quartets. She is currently continuing her education in computer science.
Dianne Cox is the quartet tenor. She now leads the uneventful
life of an independent music teacher as opposed to her former job of
research in a genetics lab. Barbershopping is a new experience for her
since her training has been in classical music. She says, "Quarteting is
definitely the way to go."
The name "Group Therapy" is indicative of the close association and stress
relief these ladies receive from their hobby.
